Ocean News: Marine Heatwaves Reshaping Ecosystems, IOGL Gravity Hole Anomaly Solved? JFK Oceans
In this Ocean News episode of Marine Science and Oceanography news we are featuring stores about Marine Heatwaves. As the Oceans Warm, they are becoming more prevalent and intense. These heatwaves transform entire ecosystems are causing certain species like the Angel shark to face extinction. What can be done about Marine Heatwaves and how can we study these events to be able to predict or mitigate them in the future? We take closer look at the recent Mediterranean Heatwave from Early July 2025 and the effects it has had on local fisheries and the Med Ecosystem. The Ocean covers the majority of the Earth’s crust and we have not explored the vast majority of it. For instance how does the last heatwave disturb the mating of an endangered species the Angel Shark? What is going to happen with Ocean warming? How intense will these heatwaves become?
